Yahoo! Announcing the first ever official Camp Birch Hill Reunion!!!

It’s finally happening! This summer, alumni and former staff ages 21+ are invited to join us August 15th-17th for a weekend of celebration and fun! Put your regular life on hold for a few days. Come gather around the campfire, meet up with old and new friends, get into some classic games, and dance the night away just like the good ol’ days.

Your Friends at Camp Birch Hill

When is it?

Friday August 15th – Sunday August 17th.

How do I reserve a space?

Click on this link to apply: https://birchhill.campintouch.com/ui/forms/application/person/App

We will then process all applications in the order they are received and send you a confirmation email once you have successfully registered.

Who is invited?

For this reunion we are inviting anyone who attended at least one session at Camp Birch Hill, as well as those who have contributed to this place as a counselor or staff member. It will be an adults only event and we are asking that people only register if they will be at least 21 years old by August 15th.

Can I bring other family/friends?

Sorry, not this time. We know many of you would love to share a weekend here with other friends, loved ones, or children who are too young to come on their own. We would love this too! We are definitely interested in hosting larger events as well as more family focused camp experiences in the future. But for this first ever “reunion”, we are planning to stay true to the name of the event and keep the focus on re-connecting and celebrating with folks who already know and love CBH. If you’re really excited about a family camp event or other ideas, help us make this weekend feel as fun and successful as possible so we can branch out to more gatherings!

Does it cost anything to register and hold my spot?

Yes. We will be charging $100 for the weekend. This amount covers the cost of 5 meals (Friday dinner – Sunday Breakfast), paying our current staff to help make this event possible (by cooking meals, cleaning cabins, etc.), and a brand new t-shirt we are making just for the reunion that every attendee will receive!

We hope you will understand that the purpose of this event is not to make money. In fact we are setting aside a prime summer weekend that would normally be booked with external events because we are so excited to get together with our friends! However, even a simple weekend gathering like this can quickly become expensive to host, so we will be using each registration fee to help us cover the cost. If you are hoping to attend, but if the price is a barrier, please reach out to us!

What time should I plan on arriving?

We are asking that everyone arrives between 1pm and 3pm on Friday. We will have additional options when registering for those who can’t make it up here on that first day. We ask that if you can’t be there Friday, you arrive Saturday between 10am and 12pm. These arrival windows are to help keep us organized and allow our current Birch Hill team to spend as much time celebrating with everyone as possible! If neither of those arrival windows work with your schedule, or if you have questions, please reach out to us.

Can I request to bunk with a friend or to stay in a specific cabin?

Sure! Just please, please have patience and understanding. We would love to pair people or groups up whenever possible, but keep in mind that it might not always be possible. Come ready to meet new friends as well! You can email requests to [email protected]

Can I bring my pet(s)?

Sorry, this one is a no. But our dogs will be happy to see you!

I’m coming from afar; can I bring my campervan or RV?

We can probably accommodate a few, but please reach out before registering.

Can I come up and participate in the reunion, but stay somewhere else nearby?

Sure. If you would prefer not to stay in a cabin, you are still more than welcome to come celebrate with us. The closest inn is Top of the Ridge Farm B&B, but there are also a few hotels in Rochester and some Airbnbs in the region. Feel free to reach out if you are looking for a recommendation.

What will the actual weekend look like?

We will share a specific schedule for attendees as the reunion gets closer, but will make sure to include plenty of organized games, activities, and collective reminiscing, as well as downtime for relaxing and exploring camp.

Is there anything special I should bring?

In addition to the basics for a weekend trip, we recommend bringing:

~ Twin/cot sheet set

~ Sleeping bag or blanket

~ Swimsuit and towels

~ Old camp photos, memorabilia, or shirts if you have them

~ Biodegradable products if you want to use them in our outdoor showers

Outside of that, we should have you covered! Though feel free to bring your own pickleball paddle, guitar, bicycle, disc golf discs, backyard games, etc.

Can I offer to help?

For now, the best thing to do is spread the word! Reach out to old friends or share our posts on social media. As we get closer, we might have some more defined ways for folks looking to lend a hand (ex: rides from nearby airports, dishes, parking, etc.), but we will focus on those more as the reunion gets closer.

And if you have a specific idea or offering you are interested in for the reunion itself, reach out to us, we’d love to hear what’s on your mind!
