Travel Birch Hill campers and staff travel from near and far to spend their summers at Birch Hill.  While a large percentage of our campers are from the East Coast , many travel from across the United States. We welcome many international campers and staff from Spain, France, Italy & beyond creating a dynamic family each summer.

Transportation Transportation: Birch Hill offers airport and bus station transportation to our camp families.  Once your camper is enrolled, families can use the online transportation form to share with our team if their campers will be arriving by  Car / Carpool, Bus, Train or Airplane.   Nearest Airport: MHT Manchester Regional Airport.  Manchester, NH Nearest International Airport:  BOS Logan International Airport.  Boston, MA

Cabin Life Cabins at Birch Hill are comfortable and consist of 8-10 campers of the same age. Each cabin is supervised by two counselors and has a full bathroom, hot water and electricity.  Bedtime or “Light’s Out” is determined by camper age group. Laundry is provided once a week for campers.  We have a suggested packing list which outlines what campers should bring to camp.  There is no uniform for Birch Hill campers, they will be given a camp t-shirt to wear on off camp trips.  Birch Hill can provide linens to campers at an additional charge.  Included in the linen bundle is: one pillow, one pillow case, one fitted sheet, one flat sheet, sleeping bag or comforter, two bath towels, one beach towel and a washcloth.

rechallCommunication Contacting your camper is possible by mail or scheduled phone call.  Letters and packages are delivered during “rest hour”, following lunch each activity day.  International camp families can e-mail letters to the Birch Hill office, which will be printed and delivered with the regular camp mail.

A Day in the Life Activity Days Every camper at Birch Hill has an individual schedule based on activities they have chosen.  The Birch Hill program is designed with a focus on fun, allowing campers to embrace activities they already enjoy while exposing them to a wide variety of new activities with skillful instruction.  There are two activity days in a row “B-Day” and “H-Day”.  The outline of activity days looks the same, only the activities change.

The Daily Schedule

*Note: This “typical schedule is followed during regular program days.  Every third day is a Special Day. Special Days On an “S-Day” campers have a late wake up and special breakfast buffet.  We offer both “In-Camp S-Days” and “Off-Camp S-Days”.  In-Camp S-Days are specially designed, fun filled days that have included Carnival Day, Themed Activity Days, and Hiking Mt. Major in Alton Bay, NH.  Off-Camp S-Days allow campers to experience local New Hampshire attractions with trips to exciting destinations including state beaches, Lake Winnipesaukee and local water parks.


Staff
The staff at Birch Hill are carefully selected from college age students, graduates, faculty and former Birch Hill campers.  Our staff are proficient in teaching activities offered at Birch Hill, and have experience and genuine delight in working with children.  We seek staff with a cheerful disposition who will embody the Birch Hill Spirit and be role models to our campers.

Cafe

Dining and Wellness The health center and cafeteria are top priorities at Birch Hill.  We strive for the highest standards, quality and care. Campers, counselors and guests tell us our food is excellent.  We offer healthy and tasty food to keep our campers happy and active.  Each buffet style meal serves many options along with an assortment of side dishes and salads.   There are always vegetarian, gluten free, and lactose free options. *We can cater to most dietary needs, please contact our office to discuss details. In addition to Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner there is fruit available to our campers throughout the day, and water fountains near each program area to keep our campers hydrated.  Check out a sample menu HERE We have a resident camp nurse, often a camp parent and school nurse, who is available twenty-four hours to treat campers, deliver medication, remind campers to hydrate and keep our campers feeling great so they can enjoy their time at camp!
