We found this Old Town Canoe build in 1940 that was used at Camp Birch Hill in New Durham, NH.

What an exciting piece of history!

Canoes like this were standard fare at so many summer camps for children. This 25′ Old Town War canoe was built in 1940 and used at Birch Hill Camps in New Durham NH. Construction is traditonal cedar planking and ribs, covered with canvas. The inside finish is varnish, outside is painted burgundy. When we received the boat it was in very rough condition. We totally restored it, replacing some of the planking, several ribs, the decks, and the canvas. The boat is in excellent condition.
