jobs
Birch Hill has been fortunate to employ caring, talented and upbeat staff members from all over the United States, Europe and Australia! All counselors are hired as activity specialists and are cabin counselors. Two counselors live together in a cabin and care for 8-10 campers of the same age. The cabins are cottage like dwellings with bathrooms. Counselors must be 18 years old and have previous experience in one or more teaching areas listed in the activity list below. Lifeguards certifications are necessary for waterfront positions, (lifeguard courses are available the weeks before camp begins).
All staff attend a pre-camp orientation week to get to know each other and prepare for our season! The positive energy and uplifting morale make the Camp Birch Hill experience unforgettable. Attitude is everything!

job applicationRich Morell – Owner/Director
Rich purchased the Camp Birch Hill property in 1993 following a career as a professor and college level tennis coach. He would say that his greatest attribute is his pancake cooking skills but thousands of campers would say it is the tireless effort he puts in to making Camp Birch Hill the greatest summer camp around. Rich is a hands-on director who will know every camper’s name by the second day of camp and can be seen participating or leading various activities around camp all summer long.
Evan Goldner – Assistant Director
Evan is a Birch Hiller for life. He was a camper from 1997 to 2000 and a counselor during the 2004 and 2005 summers. After graduating from college, Evan worked in New York City but was drawn back to camp during his second summer in the “real world.” Evan led the first ever Camp Birch Hill Teen Adventure Program in 2008 and will continue to lead future trips. He lives year-round at camp working relentlessly to keep Camp Birch Hill in pristine condition.
