Activity Highlight: Sports Broadcasting

At Camp Birch Hill we have a diverse range of activities to entertain every campers needs.  Each year when summer kicks off our campers have the opportunity to choose from 50+ activities including horseback riding, rock climbing, arts and crafts, music, basketball, swimming, wake-boarding, paintball, martial arts, gymnastics and many other exciting activities.  As a new camper scrolling through the list of activities to choose from one might come across one or two that they’ve never heard of before.  We want to highlight these unique activities in case it may be something you might love to try.

 

 

Today we are highlight Sports Broadcasting! 

 

Sports Broadcasting is much like it sounds but it involves a serious degree of imaginative play and improvisation.  In each class the Sports Broadcasting campers go from activity to activity interviewing campers and counselors about what they’re doing taking on the persona of sports commentators.  If you can imagine this becomes very entertaining for everyone involved and often times brings out the inner comedian in everyone.  If there is a basketball game going on for example the sports broadcasting class may stand on the sidelines providing everyone with live coverage, describing the events as they unfold.

 

Camp is all about adventure and having fun in the outdoors.  At Camp Birch Hill we encourage imaginative play.  Sports Broadcasting is the sort activity that allows campers to have fun and be silly, it may challenge one to step out of their comfort zone and use creative thinking to tell a story.  Whether you are taking the sports broadcasting class or in another activity you will surely come across this band of Sports Broadcasters during your daily schedule.  So keep your eye out, be ready for a fit of laughter and have you answers ready.
